City lights glow

The wind subtly blows

People walking the streets

In a hurry to work, they go

or perhaps to eat or feast

going home or simply walking

sitting on a sidewalk, panting

would you pass by a homeless

or give them something for free

because they are a sister or brother, after all

they once walked the same streets

and still will, long after we all go home
