A single seed was planted

in the ripples of the earth

It was still in utter darkness

Whispers of madness were heard

“in darkness?What can possibly grow”

in the depths of dark & dirt

a seed cracked through its shell

through the pockets of dust

life begins to dwell

A single leaf begins to sprout

through the corners of self-doubt

as the leaf becomes a plant

Oxygen is given, it withstands

the dark, the cold, the rain & dirt

for to grow one must understand

that a seed, must sprout through dirt

That some rain, will make you grow

the sun, will give some nourishment

the dark, will show your glow

 So be thankful in your trials

and be thankful in the rain

be thankful in your glories

at any given day

for life is what we choose to see

not what happens in the myth

a storm and utter chaos

or a seed that chose to live

There is a notion

requires no potion

sadly quite alien

still to this day

that women can thrive

not merely survive

be part of society

what a concrete analogy

that women can vote

and women can speak

women can write

and women can read

women can be engineers

entrepreneurs, astronauts, teachers

authors, mechanics, technologist, artists

directors, producers, presidents without fears

they can be mothers and sisters

caring and daring

they can be daughters and ministers

always prevailing

women need not be harsh

to achieve all that we can be

that is another sterotype

brought on by need

the invisible threat, that women want power

as men become less by the hour

It is not an issue of women

it is an issue of society

we hold back the potential of nations

when we decide intellect has gender

education is at most

not the tool for the lost

but the ability to gain knowledge

the wisdom of college

if a woman can speak

and a woman can write

than a woman can lead

and a woman can thrive

we don’t have to be objects

or hide our feminine side

we don’t have to believe we are scarlets

and pretend we are blind

to a man’s given label

 easier to threat in scars

instead of owning, boy, I’m not stable

for women can be presidents

and women can be residents

women can achieve exellence

and we don’t have to condescend

we don’t have to be hateful

we don’t have to be a threat

we only need to be ourselves

and use the given power within

not to hate, but to love

not to blame, but overcome

not to shame, but to thrive

not to oppress, but to gain

the ability to see

all that we can be

how beautiful we already are

how wonderful we can truly be

Happy Women’s Day indeed

A poem inspired by women who pave the way and progress of society.

As we look at another

do we dare, stop and bother

do we open our eyes

see the soul that’s inside

When we see our reflection

and our thoughts forced dissection

oh, the sight that we see

is the person conceived

we create our reality

we give in to insanity

believe we are alone

never sure, never in control

when we summon the courage

turn the page of given storage

we learn to begin

and life has no end

we see people not poverty

we see humans not cowardly

we see spirits not ghosts

we see humans at most

indifference is heart poverty’s route

destruction of  meaningful count

Mediocrity of a rich fulfilled life

the link that would keep humans alive

to give is to receive

to bend is not to brake

to love is not to hate

to receive we must learn to give

we reap what we sow

we harvest what we plant

we forget we are human and bold

we forget we are human and wise

to touch a human heart

we don’t have to fall appart

we don’t have to change who we are

we have to be more, than we once were

for if one can learn to hate,  one can lean to love

if one can learn to be cruel, one can learn to be kind

if one can learn to be wrong,  one can learn to be right

if one can learn to be flawed, one can learn to be flawless

To reach for another

is to care to recover

what we carry from birth

love and support

lack color, discrimination, judgment and scorn

the learned traits of discord

In a heart full of hate, there is no room for love

in a spirit full of doubt, there is no room for achievement

in a soul full of bitterness, there is no room for kindness

in a mind full of judgement, there is no room for acceptance

what a wonderful thought

and a gift of reality

that everyday we wake

Shall mar existence by a color
The satellites keep rhyme
Of chaos, murder & mime

My back I turn to honor
What remains, within the color
Of the future that I paint
Not to live in senseless hate

May the hissing of another
Make the waves I now uncover
To refuse to be reduced
To a pond in chess seduced

I don’t feel amused
By the hearts that are broken
The words left unspoken
The innocent accused

While hissing makes its world
To be “better off” in cord
For better or for worse

While the noose remains quite loose
Still I single handed choose
To lead a better life
Beyond living, choose to thrive

But my words shall not be broken
Nor turned into selfish words spoken
They are steady as a drum

No gender required
No child need fired
No man to be diminished
No Woman need be finished

For women are not objects
And men are not wallets
Education is the key
To cut bars & finally free

So while images are priced
And lives are half way sliced
I will stand for conservation
Prevention, future conversation

My mind remains strong

My spirit remains brave
